Our Story

Why StageFinder Exists

Finding live music at small local venues used to drive me crazy. Not the big shows β€” those are easy. Bandsintown, Songkick, a quick Google search and you're done. But the Thursday night jazz trio at the neighborhood brewery? The comedy open mic at the dive bar two miles away? Those shows were invisible.

I kept running into the same wall. Google search surfaced the big venues and ignored the rest. Google Maps helped a little, but I still had to click into every single result just to find out if they even had live music β€” and if they did, I had to dig further to see if anything was happening on the nights I actually wanted to go out. Multiply that by a dozen venues and I'd burned 45 minutes just trying to answer a simple question: what's happening tonight?

In early 2026, I came across news about AI-assisted coding tools that were apparently accessible enough for non-developers to use. I'm not a coder β€” I never have been. But I decided to find out if that was true, and to solve my own frustration in the process. Working evenings and weekends from my home in Colorado, I built StageFinder.Live from scratch with the help of AI.

This is the website I wished existed.

How It Works

StageFinder.Live automatically aggregates live entertainment events from venue websites β€” music, comedy, karaoke, open mics, trivia, and more β€” and puts them all in one searchable place. Enter your ZIP code, pick a radius, choose a date range, and see everything happening near you without clicking between a dozen websites.

The platform started in Colorado and is expanding nationally. If you search a ZIP code and don't see results in your area yet, you can submit a city request and we'll work on getting your market added.

It's free for fans, free for venues, and free for bands β€” supported by advertising rather than paywalls or ticket fees.

The Thursday night jazz trio deserves a full room. So does the comedy open mic, the karaoke night, and the cover band that's been playing the same brewery every Saturday for three years. We're just here to help people find them.
